5th Macroeconomic Research Meeting (MAREM)
Tübingen, March 12-13, 2009

Purpose: Young macroeconomists share their ideas and papers during an intensive two-day research meeting. The workshop-style meeting puts a premium on interaction and discussion, with a focus on fostering a productive environment for joint research and the development of new ideas. Any paper (in particular work in progress) in applied macroeconomics is welcome. This includes, but is not limited to, topics in monetary economics, growth, or political economy applied to macroeconomic questions. Research using micro-data to analyze macroeconomic issues is particularly encouraged.
Participants: This meeting aims at young researchers and Ph.D. students in the field of macroeconomics. Senior scholars are invited to participate as discussants.
Location: Institute for Applied Economic Research (IAW) Tübingen.
Arrival: Wednesday, 11 March 2009, during the afternoon; 7 p.m. informal get-together
Conference: Thursday and Friday (ends in the afternoon) No conference fee; participants have to cover their own travel and accommodation costs.

Deadlines:
Please send a PDF/Word version of the paper before 09 January 2009 to marem@iaw.edu. Decisions on acceptance will be communicated before 26 January 2009. The final version of the paper has to be submitted by 13 February 2009.
