Sustainable Urban Land Use in the Gießen-Wetzlar Region

The aim of the project is to develop a steering model for a stagnating area that will change into a declining region for demographic reasons and that simultaneously is marked by suburbanisation. The project shall contribute to a more sustainable urban land use based on spatial planning criteria, economic steering approaches and intraregional cooperation.

It is an interdisciplinary project with a number of partners in which the IAW deals with questions referring to regional policy and environmental economics, especially urban land use economics.
