Vocational training prognosis for the craft business in Baden-Württemberg

The goal of this project is to develop a prognosis for the in-company and inter-company vocational training (betriebliche und überbetriebliche Ausbildung) separately for each occupational group until the year 2025. The prognosis is based on available data concerning apprenticeship training. Especially economic development and migration will be taken into account.

The data basis for the prognosis is data from the Baden-Württembergischen-Handwerkstag (BWHT) about inter-company education centres (überbetriebliche Bildungszentren) and data form the Statistisches Landesamt about the transition from school to apprenticeship, the apprentice statistic, the aggregated information about profession, age, gender of the apprentices and about the number of new apprenticeship contracts.

Beside the assessment of the status quo of the in-company and inter-company vocational training in Baden-Württemberg, the data will also be analysed. Subsequently prognoses based on the model calculation of the Statistisches Landesamt Baden- Württemberg on the development of education capacities will be developed for different scenarios.
