Dr. Anselm Mattes

Anselm Mattes worked as a research associate at the IAW from April 2006 until December 2009. Before, he studied public finance, international economics, and econometrics at the University of Hohenheim.

Dr. Anselm Mattes completed his PhD thesis under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Claudia M. Buch and Prof. Dr. Ansgar Belke in April 2007. His thesis on "Foreign Direct Investment - Evidence on Determinants and Effects at the Micro-level" is now available as IAW-Forschungsbericht No. 70

His recent research interest include: empirical analysis determinants and effects of foreign direct investment (FDI), analysis of trade flows, innovation.


Current Projects:

  • European Firms in a Global Economy: Internal Policies for External Competitiveness (EFIGE). Commissioned by: EU Commission/7th RFP (2008/2012).
  • Multinational Enterprises: New Theories and Empirical Evidence from German Firm-Level Data. Commissioned by: German Research Foundation (DFG) (2006/2010).
