Birgit Ullrich first trained as a legal and notary secretary before going on to graduate in Sinology, Ethnology, and Journalism (M.A.) at the Universities of Münster and Tübingen.

She is a member of the IAW’s administrative staff and has been the assistant to the managing directors of the IAW since September 2000.

Her responsibilities include the editing, layout, and graphics of the Institute’s publishing activities and reports, organizing events and dealing with the IAW’s correspondence.
