Katja Neugebauer joined the IAW as a research associate in January 2010. Before, she worked as a research assistant at the department of International Finance and Macroeconomics (chair: Professor Dr. Claudia M. Buch). She studied Economics with a focus on quantitative methods at the Eberhard-Karls-University of Tübingen and the University of Edinburgh, where she received her Diploma in 2004. She completed her PhD thesis "Bank Risk and Cross-Border Banking: An Empirical Analysis" under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Claudia M. Buch (University of Tübingen) in October 2010.
Her current research focus is on international banking, bank and firm micro-level data, the internationalization of firms, competitiveness, and income and wealth inequality.
