Research-based Learning Experience Project - Analysis of the Situation of Refugees

The research-based learning experience project was a cooperation of the Institute for Applied Economic Research (IAW) and the University of Tübingen’s Weltethos-Institut (WEIT) with the University of Pforzheim. The aim of the project was to provide students with contentual, interdisciplinary and intercultural competencies for the integration chances and challenges of refugees. Part of the  project on the part of the students was the well-founded development of a quantitative questionnaire and the carrying out of a pre-test with about 15 refugees.

The project was largely organized and carried out by the students on their own responsibility. In addition, they were regularly prepared for their tasks, including an overview of questions and results of research on the integration of refugees, the human development and capability approach, the creation of survey tools and quantitative methods of economic and social science research, as well as practical and intercultural aspects and the topic of flight and trauma.
