Study on determinants of the premature dissolution of vocational training contracts

The aim of the study is to identify determinants of the cancellation of vocational training contracts before the completion of the training. Therefore, we summarize the current state of research in theoretical models as well as in empirical analyses. In addition to describing the current situation on the market for vocational trainings by using official data, we use the “Übergangsstudie” of the Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training (BIBB) for quantitative analysis of determinants of educational dropouts. We complement the quantitative research by conducting case studies in different regions of Baden-Wuerttemberg to get even deeper knowledge of reasons for the premature cancellation of educational contracts.
