No graduation without perspective - Transition from school to work in NRW

North Rhine-Westphalia was the first federal state in Germany implementing a transition system supporting the transition to vocational training or university studies after leaving the school. This program called “No graduation without any perspective” (Kein Abschluss ohne Anschluss”) was implemented in the year 2011. It aims to ensure that young people receive a binding connection perspective after leaving school for all types of schools.

The goal of this project is to evaluate the effectiveness of the implemented program. Using a control group approach it is analyzed, whether the participation in this program help young adults to manage the transition from school to work in a successful way. To get a more detailed insight how this program operates and to analyze different kinds of its implementation cases studies are conducted in chosen rural districts.
