The strategy for a strong economic metropolis: Study on the economic impact of eight target states for Berlin's development
This study examines the potential of eight selected target states for Berlin's economy. It considers various areas such as innovation, the labour market, infrastructure and education. The focus is on an economic simulation model that assesses the direct and indirect effects of these target states on gross domestic product (GDP) and the labour market situation in the city-state.
Important control variables in the model include productivity, labour availability and trade costs between different regions. The model takes various economic sectors into account and maps Germany at district level in order to present the effects in a differentiated manner and enable a holistic perspective on the economic effects. The analysis is based on a detailed description of the status quo, drawing on both scientific sources and current data sets.
After the simulation has been carried out, the results are interpreted in detail in order to derive well-founded conclusions and recommended strategies for action that will contribute to strengthening Berlin's economic resilience and long-term competitiveness.
