Holds a Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree; studied Social Work (B.A.) in Frankfurt am Main, followed by Social Law and Social Economy (LL.M.) at the University of Kassel. She subsequently worked there as a research associate in the FIS-funded junior research group, "Social Jurisdiction and the Development of Social Law and Social Policy in the Federal Republic of Germany." Concurrently, she completed a postgraduate program in Coaching, Organizational Consulting, and Supervision (M.A.) at the University of Kassel’s Management School (UNIKIMS).

Since July 2024, Alice Dillbahner has been a research associate at the IAW, initially within the administrative office of the "Network for Better Regulation and Bureaucracy Reduction," and subsequently across various projects related to the labor market and social security. In June 2026, she completed her doctorate (Dr. rer. pol.) at the Helmut Schmidt University / University of the Federal Armed Forces Hamburg. Her doctoral research focused on legal protection procedures within social security systems, using the concept of "administrative justice" in Great Britain as a case study.
