Effects of the statutory minimum wage on the risk of poverty, income, and government revenue (MLK 039).

The project examines the impact of increases in the statutory minimum wage to 12.00 euros on the risk of poverty, wages, working hours, job satisfaction, and health. It also quantifies the additional revenue generated for the fiscal household as a result of the minimum wage increase. The analyses are based on the SOEP. The project’s overall goal is to provide the Minimum Wage Commission with empirical findings for the preparation of the Commission’s 6th report (2027). By combining microdata analysis with simulation modeling, the project aims to identify causal effects and quantify distributional and feedback effects.
